FISSLER AMONGST THE INNOVATIVE ELITE
Cookware manufacturer awarded the TOP 100 seal of approval
For almost 20 years now the TOP 100 project has been committed to identifying Germany's most innovative SMEs. This year Fissler made it into the ranks of the top one hundred companies. On the evening of 30 June 2011 in the Baltic resort of Rostock-Warnemünde, the manufacturer of premium-quality cookware was presented with this award for its innovativeness. At a ceremony attended by figures from both the worlds of business and politics, the seal of approval was presented to Fissler's Managing Director, Markus H. Kepka, by Lothar Späth, the former prime minister of the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg who has been the mentor of this project since 2002.
Kepka summed up his satisfaction at winning this award with the following words: "The desire to be innovative has been the driving force behind the national and international success of our products for over 165 years. As such, we regard the TOP 100 seal of approval as confirmation of our corporate philosophy and we take great pride in this prize." From the field kitchen in the late 19th century, the first pressure cooker with a multi-level cooking valve through to the first stainless steel range of pans with cold metal handles, the company based in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, has launched numerous significant innovations onto the market. In the last 50 years alone, the cookware producer has registered over 200 patents and utility models. "And we shall continue to work every single day on improving our products in the interests of the consumer", promised Kepka. Right from the word go, the company has backed the philosophy of "Made in Germany" – the Fissler innovations are developed in Germany and produced in two locations.
