Preparing baby food at home in a pressure cooker is the ideal method for preserving essential nutrients and vitamins in food. Feeding your baby a variety of dishes made with wholesome ingredients helps develop a broader palate over time. Our quick pressure cooker recipe takes only 4 minutes to cook once the cooker is pressurized.
Cut carrot into approximately ½-inch thick slices. Wash bell pepper and cut into 1-inch long pieces. Dice peeled potato. Dice salmon (these should be diced about the same size).
Fill pressure cooker, such as Fissler vitavit® premium, with 1¼ cups of water. Use tripod to place perforated steamer inset into the pressure cooker. Add vegetables, potatoes and fish.
Close pressure cooker in accordance with instructions, set control valve in lid to 1 (gentle setting), and heat to a high temperature. When yellow ring appears, turn heat to low. When green ring appears, cook for 4 minutes. After cooking time has finished, allow steam to escape from pressure cooker and open in accordance with instructions.
Place vegetable-fish mixture, orange juice and canola oil into a bowl. Use a hand-held blender to purée ingredients to desired consistency. As needed, add boiling water. If you do not have a hand-held blender, place in a food processor or blender and then purée. Be sure the mixture has cooled to an appropriate temperature before you feed your baby.
