It’s so easy to make your own baby food with a pressure cooker. Not only is it fast, but pressure cookers retain food nutrients. This classic beef and potato recipe is a perfect starter food for your baby.
Finely dice potato and beef. The pieces of potato and meat should be about the same size.
Fill pressure cooker, such as the Fissler vitavit® premium, with approximately 1-1/4 cups of water. Use tripod to place perforated steamer insert into pressure cooker. Add vegetables, potatoes, and meat.
Close pressure cooker according to instructions, set control valve in lid to 1 (gentle setting), and bring pot to high heat. When yellow ring appears, turn heat to low. When green ring appears, cooking time of 4 minutes begins. After the cooking time is complete, allow steam to escape from pressure cooker and open according to instructions.
Put vegetable-meat mixture, orange juice and canola oil into a bowl. Purée ingredients until the desired consistency is reached with a hand-blend or stand-alone blender. If needed, add boiling water. Be sure the mixture has cooled to an appropriate temperature before you feed your baby.
